Adoption Time at the local Humane Society
Here in Rochester, NY our local Humane Society is called "Lollypop Farm." I have to investigate to find out the history behind that name, but for now, I wanted to mention that this month (June) at Lollypop Farm - for local readers - the organization is celebrating its annual Adopt-a-Cat event. And, to be really friendly about it, they're offering lots of goodies to go along with the adoptions.
For instance - until June 30th, if you adopt a cat at the Lollypop Farm facility, or at The Mall at GreeceRidge, or at PetSmart in Henrietta, here's what you get with your new kitty:
- Spaying or neutering
- Feline leukemia testing
- Vaccinations and deworming
- Certificate for a free health exam
- Microchipping
...and that's not all...
They're also having a raffle for a really kewl kitty climbing tree, a cat scratching tunnel, a deluxe window perch, a kitty collar and toy and blanket...and lots of other good stuff. Not to mention, an adorable, cuddly new kitty. Last time we were out there, I had to pull back on adopting all of the cats, they were all so docile and friendly. I saw a couple of twosomes - either siblings or just cats that had grown up together but were now up for adoption cause their families couldn't keep them.
I plan on adopting...soon. No doubt Lollypop Farm will continue to have events like this, for cats, kittens, dogs and puppies. Your local animal shelter or Humane Society is just the place to find your next pet. And, don't forget to get a pet health insurance quote from PurinaCare, when you adopt that new kitty! (or puppy - or cat or dog)
Remember, our pets provide such loving attention - studies even show that they lower blood pressure. So, how can you resist? I hear a cat calling you now...
Let's hear a series of meows for this kitty-cat adoption event. It's even sponsored by a local pet store, Pet Saver Superstore in StoneRidge Plaza (hey, that's near me!)

Thanks for the mention! Adopt-a-Cat Month is officially over, but we still have many wonderful cats waiting for new homes, so we hope people will come out and visit!
